Computers

General Use and Internet Access

The library has nine computers for Internet access and other basic programs. Two of these are designated as Express computers for quick checks of information or email.

Those with a Jay County Public Library Card and password may log on directly at an available machine. Visitors may request a guest pass at the circulation desk.

The fee for printing is 15¢ per sheet, payable at the circulation desk.   Except for the most basic technical support, staff do not assist users with this equipment.

If you are interested in more help, ask at the circulation desk about scheduling a 30-minute one-on-one basic computer use session with a staff member.

For Genealogy and Local History Research

Two computers with limited Internet access are located in the Indiana Room for genealogy research and access to the local obituary index.

An additional computer is connected to a microfilm scanner.

Additional computer terminals around the building offer OPAC service (online public access catalog of the library’s collection).

Internet Access

Wireless Internet access is available throughout the building for use with your own device.

All Internet users shall comply with the library’s acceptable usage policy.
