Drivers, start your engines! Children of all ages are welcome to come to the library on Tuesday, June 24 for a Pinewood Derby hosted in partnership with Scout Troop 206, Cub Pack 3206, and Cub Pack 205. There will be two sessions to choose from: 10:00-11:30 a.m. or 1:30-3:00 p.m. Come into the library to pick up your predesigned derby car kit ahead of time and sign up to reserve your spot to race them. Rules and instructions will be provided with each kit. Take your kit home to assemble and decorate it. Bring it back to the library on June 24 to race against other derby cars to see who has the fastest and best-looking car. 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd place ribbons will be awarded for both categories. Snacks and additional activities will be provided. Registration is required by coming to the library to sign up. Kits will not be reserved – participants must pick them up when signing up for the program. Parents are requested to attend and adult help will be needed for younger children.
