TEEN SCENE September 19, 6 - 7:30 p.m. A much neglected age group in the library is the teen population. Once kids are in middle and high school, they don’t come to the library very often. Even when doing research, the Internet is usually called upon first, and sometimes only online sources are used. Programming is also geared to a younger audience, with Story Times and Mother Goose and Legos. This school year, we’d like to offer more for the teens in our area. So we’ll be offering some programs specifically for teens. We’re hoping if we provide the food and games and music, the fun will follow. Sort of a “if you build it, they will come…” philosophy. So with that in mind, the first Teen Scene program will be held on Wednesday, September 19th from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. There will be food, there will be games, there will be music. Teens that show up will be asked to help suggest future programs. The library would like to assemble a teen advisory group to help plan all the future teen programs. Your help is wanted and needed! Plan to come to the first Teen Scene program, and let’s see just where we can go from here!
