Don't miss the Bus!
Our annual "get acquainted with riding the school bus" program is tentatively set for Monday, August 5 @10am.
Kids who are entering kindergarten, along with a parent, can sign up to ride a school bus from the library to Bloomfield Elementary School. Before takeoff, the driver goes over the rules, gives kids safety suggestions, and explains what type of behavior is expected.
Once at school, kindergarten teacher Mrs. Gregg opens her classroom. Kids (and rookie parents!) can get a good idea of what goes on in school before it actually starts!
Sign-up is necessary and is limited to the first 50 riders. Call the library to sign up for this fun-filled program!
Crafts & Activities
You will need:
2 paper bowls
Paint and paintbrushes
Ribbons and fishing line
You will do:
1. Paint the bottom of one paper bowl with watercolors.
2. Trim eyes from cardstock or draw the eyes with markers.
3. On the inside of the bowl, add glue and place the ends of some ribbon on it. Place another bowl on top (with the ribbon sticking out) and let dry.
4. Have an adult poke two small holes in the center of the bowl. Thread fishing line through the bowl so it creates a loop under the bowl.
5. Tie ribbon and trim to the loop, then tighten the loop to secure the ribbon.
6. Hang up and enjoy your creation!
