Adult Reading Programs

The Winter Adult Reading Program takes place mid-January to mid-February and Summer Adult Reading Program runs concurrently with the children's Summer Reading Program, approximately June through July each year.

Here’s your chance to win great prizes, like a Nook HD and gift cards to stores and restaurants in Jay County!

All you have to do is register for the Adult Winter Reading Program and read books, eBooks, graphic novels, magazines, and/or audio books during the month of February. Fill out a Prize Entry form for each item you read to be eligible for prize drawings. At registration, you’ll receive a packet with instructions, prize drawing dates, and book suggestions. For readers 18 and above.

Read from February 1st to February 28th

Registration required; registration open January 28th through February 9th

Prize drawing dates (gift cards): at noon on February 9th, 15th and 22nd.

Grand prize drawing date (Nook HD): at noon on February 28th.

Pick up a copy of BookPage at the desk for reviews of new books, author interviews and more.

Get sample readings by email at “Online Book Clubs” from DearReader on the library’s homepage.

Use the “What’s Next?” link on the homepage or on the catalog computers at the library to find titles in popular series by author, character or genre.

Scan the new materials shelf for recent fiction and non-fiction in print and on CD.

For ereaders: check “Award Winners” or “Recently Returned” in the “Browse Collections” box in OverDrive.

Summer Adult Reading Program 2012

Register June 1st - 18th

Program ends July 14th

Registration for the 2012 Adult Summer Reading program begins June 1st. Register at the circulation desk before June 18th to be eligible for the grand prize drawing. This year’s grand prize? A Kindle Fire!

Register, then get reading — books, audiobooks, magazines, graphic novels from the library. The handout you’ll receive has the details.

Turn in your prize entry forms from June 4th through 5:00 p.m. on July 14th to be in the grand prize drawing.
