Tuesday, October 2nd Jay County Public Library and Arts Place, Inc. are partnering to bring Indiana author and Quaker pastor Philip Gulley to Portland in two special FREE events. Copies of one of Gulleys titles are available to purchase at a discount at each location. Gulley will sign books during his visit. Booklist compares Philip Gulley to Garrison Keillor, Annie Dillard, Wendell Berry and Kathleen Norris. He writes as cleanly as they, and perhaps with greater range, encompassing the tooth fairy, cheap shoes, middle-age spread, chairs, and simplicity.
